Unable To Change Engine

Post by Shamrock727 »

I purchased this about 1 year ago, and after recently building a new computer I re installed the spitfire, when I originally installed it I was unable to change the engine type on any of the Spitfires in the Hangar menu, now that I have re installed on a new computer I still have the same problem.

Hello and welcome to the forums!

I don't understand your post as the engines are not changeable?

Thanks,
Lewis

Thank you!

I think a picture speaks for all, the problem I am having - when clicking on the propeller circled in red that is on the hangar floor, I am unable to fit it onto the aircraft! As I assume its a click and install process?

Aha right changing the propellers. Okie dokie, this is only available in the Accu-sim version of the aircraft. Do you have the Spitfire Accu-sim realism package?

thanks,
Lewis

Thanks for shedding light on this!

Hey Lewis. Wasn't there a dat file download available on here somewhere that fixed the stuck two blade for a three? I seem to remember it was an issue for the non Accu-Sim Spitfire a while ago. Or was that a bug with the early Accu-Sim Spit? Failing that, perhaps you could delete the existing dat file in "your documents\A2A\FSX\Spitfire" folder and let it generate a new one.

Edit.
I just checked my archives and found a folder called "Two Blade Prop Fix(No Accusim)" dated September 2012, with a spit_default_dats.zip in it, so it's here somewhere.

Ahh yes if you haven't you will want to download the prop fix for non Accu-sim spitfire users from the product updates page on the website or the FAQ in the spitfire tech support forums.

Thanks,
Lewis

I found a link to the zip in this thread. It's towards the bottom in a post by Scott.
