Hello. I need help with installing.

Post by cg31 »

I'm new and just downloaded my purchase of the Spitfire. But when I click the exe file, it tries to install and then says:

"The setup could not find the Wings of POWER III: Spitfire installed. The installer cannot continue unless it can find the aircraft. This would likely be corrected by re-installing the aircraft. For further assistance, please visit A2A Simulations at http://www.a2asimulations.com. Thank you"

What am I doing wrong?

I've tried downloading it twice and each time it downloads a zip file called wop3_spitfire_accusim. This has one file in it... an exe of the same name.

I've tried extracting the zip file more than once. I've logged off and on twice. I've tried the install half a dozen times, always getting the same message.

I have FSX with acceleration pack installed on a Windows 7 machine.

Please help.

Thanks.

I'm not A2A representative but did you install the Spitfire before installing Accusim expansion for Spitfire. See, the latter doesn't contain the plane. It only adds lots of features to it.

Correct installation order:
WOP3 Spitfire ( http://www.a2asimulations.com/store/ind ... ucts_id=41 ) (Buy it if you don't have it. If you have it, install it first.)
Accusim for Spitfire ( http://www.a2asimulations.com/store/ind ... ucts_id=42 ) ( This one you have already. )
latest Core Update (at the moment of writing 1.5.2).

Core Update is free download. The first two need to be bought.

Thank you for replying. I purchased this:

1 x Accu-Sim for the Wings of Power 3 Spitfire = $24.99

It looks like I got confused on what to buy. I guess I have to purchased the other item as well.

I'm completely new to A2ASimulations so don't really know what I'm doing. I'll go ahead and purchase the other item. I really just wanted to fly the Spitfire in FSX. Not sure what the other item is for.

You were correct. That was the problem. I was able to download and install it now. I sent a message to customer support to find out about a refund for the accumsim since I don't know what that is or why I would want it. Is there a good reason for me to purchase both items?

PS: I just took my first flight in the Spitfire. Very nice and very well done.

The Accu-sim package is the realism package for the aircraft. Without Accu-sim you get a great aircraft but sans all of the expanded systems modelling, expanded sounds and everything else mentioned on the store.

I did install it and notice a difference so I think I'll keep it. No need for a refund.

Thanks for the good work.

Remember to install the latest Accu-sim core update for the latest fixes and features. And on our YouTube channel you will find a video that complements the manual and helps explain some of the Spitfires features and how they work.

happy flying!

Thanks,
Lewis

I was on the phone earlier which can make basic copy/paste functions annoyingly difficult. Heres the link to the updates;

http://a2asimulations.com/forum/viewtop ... 23&t=36524

For the Accu-sim CORE aircraft the core update should always be installed last after the installation of a core aircraft. It will update all core aircraft with either new features or bug fixes, tweaks etc.
