Spitfire Datfiles?

Post by francesco.doenz »

I would like to renew the Spitfire datfiles, renewing them sometimes helps cure "spooky" problems like the trim indicator problem I have in this moment. But I do not find the datfiles in the Spitfire folder as it is the case with the datfiles of the P-47 which are in the P-47 folder?
Renewing the datfiles of the P-47 helped me in the past to cure this kind of strange problems!

Have a look in your Documents folder. There should be an A2A folder in there with an FSX\Spitfire folder.

Dead center! Correct! Thanks for your help! Wonder what the rationale is of putting dat files of Spits and Mustang in the docs file, and the P-47 in the A2A folder?!

Probably a change in logical thinking, or personnel over time by the teams that put the packages together.

Correct. After the P-47 was released things began to get more organized with
respect to things like the location of files, etc. Having the dat files in the users
document folder makes more sense so that if you create different accounts on a
system the dat files will be unique for each user.
