I have just purchased and installed WoP 3 Spitfire with Accusim. While I had a pretty successful 1st flight with the MkI, I broke the 2-blade prop while landing with wheels not altogether down. Now I have an airplane with a broken prop and no way to fix it. I have FSX Deluxe with Acceleration running under Windows 7 64-bit. FSX is running 32-bit.
I have tried to get the alternate panes open from the menu and using Shift-(number), i.e. Shift-7 for the maintenance hangar with no success. The first time I try to open one of the optional panes, I get a flash like the pane opens but nothing stays on the screen. With other planes the optional panes open normally. I have picked up the reset DAT files (FAQ/MISC) to get to the 3-blade 2-speed prop but I can't do any engine work so I reset each flight. Also with the reset DAT's, the 2-blade prop is not available. The transparency for 2d panes is set to 0% (FAQ/MISC), running DX10 preview.
Some assistance would be appreciated.
By the way, this is the smoothest plane I have experienced in MFS, ever. I have been running this sim in one form or another since the first edition on the Apple II+

Re: Optional control panels do not appear
Steve,
Did you install both the airplane and the accusim pack? Then apply this update?

Re: Optional control panels do not appear
Hello Steve,
I didnt see this thread so ignore my other comment in the other thread about creating your own. Re: Flashing panels, it sounds like a sim connect issue. Can I please ask you to reinstall Simconnect (I'd recommend the automatic one for ease and quickness) :
"How to fix SimConnect:
You can test if simconnect is working by opening up the default Cessna 172 and check to see if you have gauges. If you do not have gauges, then SimConnect is probably not working.
AUTOMATIC
- Run the Microsoft DirectX installer here: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=35
- Run the Microsoft FSX Simconnect installer here: http://a2asimulations.com/public/downlo ... onnect.msi
- Reboot your computer
MANUAL
To fix Simconnect, do the following (thanks to Aerosoft for posting these instructions):
- Go to the Control Panel / Add-remove programs.
- Ensure You have "show all updates" enabled.
- Find and select "Microsoft Flight Simultor X SP2".
- Click "Remove" and confirm that You will unistall SP2.
At this point You might not be able to find Your "Microsoft Flight Simultor X" entry in the Add/remove list, so.......
-Close the Add/remove program window and open it again.
-Find and select "Microsoft Flight Simultor X SP1".
-Click "Remove" and confirm that You will uninstall SP1 (might require FSX Disk 1).
-Go to this folder:
C:\WINDOWS\WinSxS\
-Delete these entries 3:
x86_Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect_67c7c14424d61b5b_10.0.60905.0_....
x86_Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect_67c7c14424d61b5b_10.0.61242.0_....
x86_Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect_67c7c14424d61b5b_10.0.61259.0_...."
Also you note about the propeller change but this patch is ONLY for those without Accu-sim. If you have installed this patch with accu-sim you may well need to un-install the Spitfire and delete all traces of the program and then reinstall for correct working of the propeller change functions throughout the MKI and II's.

Re: Optional control panels do not appear
Reloaded Spitfire and Accusim and updated to v1.5.1. Also loaded latest GeForce driver 320.49. Running dual GeForce GTX 680's. Still no joy. Try to access Maint hangar or any other panel and get a flash on the first try and then nothing on subsequent tries. The panel views open fine with other planes.
I'm trying to load a screenshot of an error message I get when I load each piece: Spitfire, Accusim, update 1.5.1. It says I need something like 1,652,531,464 K more free space on my C: drive. I ignored the message.

Re: Optional control panels do not appear
Hello Steve,
did you reinstall simconnect using the link I posted?
Also just to check, you are running an Updated FSX with either Service Pack 1-2 installed or Acceleration expansion?
thanks

I had the same exact problem with the "Strat". After I reinstalled Acceleration Expansion everything worked fine. This just might work for you it's worth trying.

Thanks to Ernest Wimberly: reinstall or repair Acceleration Pack to get the pop-ups to work. Don't know why but this fixed it.

Re: Optional control panels do not appear
Unfortunately FSX can sometimes be corrupt and yet still work perfectly but for a few features. It can make support and troubleshooting, shall we say 'interesting' at times. Glad its all sorted for you
