Spitfire Skinpack Uploaded to Sim-Outhouse

Post by ICDP »

I have uploaded a pack of three new skins for the A2A Wings of Power 3 Spitfire. It can be downloaded from sim-outhouse.com, here is the link.

Spitfire K9906 was built on 21st March 1939, it was assigned to 65 (East India) Squadron and marked as FZ-L. It was flown by Flying Officer Robert Stanford Tuck who was one of the RAF’s first qualified Spitfire pilots. Tuck went on to claim a total of 27 aerial kills before being shot down and captured over France on 28th of January 1942.

If you are a Spitfire Aficionado Spitfire P7350 will need no introductions!

P7350 depicted as it would have appeared in Sept 1940 during the Battle of Britain. P7350 was assigned to 266 Sqn. at Wittering on September 6 and marked as UO-T. P7350 would go on to survive the war and is currently the oldest airworthy Spitfire in the world.

S'pose it would be far, far, too cheeky to ask for a 234Sqn (AZ-x) or 609Sqn (PR-x) repaint, wouldn't it? (Both Squadrons flew Mk.Is from Middle Wallop in the Summer of 1940...) - so I won't even bother begging for a 611Sqn (FY-x) for Digby. ;)

And Lewis, before you chime in, no I can't! ;)

Very nice paints indeed ICDP. It's almost a pity that the RAF frowned heavily on "personalised" aircraft in the early war years, isn't it? Means that even the specials have a tendency to look very similar to each other.

Very nice. Will they be uploaded elsewhere too? You have to be a member of SOH to access the library!

I just uploaded it to a file share location. This is not a permanent link as I think they remove the file after a few days/weeks. So get it while you can.

I know it is pretty brash to ask, my apologies. However IF you would be willing I would like to request a semi-fictional paint scheme.

In IL-2 with 242 (Virtual) Squadron I flew LE-X and I would be absolutely chuffed if I could have that recreated on this fantastic plane. No specific tail number, any believable one will do, and 1940 camo. The only "artistic" flair is a small logo painted on the left side, just forward of the cockpit. (In the usual place such thing go on Spits ;)) This would be the logo I mean.

If possible it would be greatly appreciated, if not I understand and thanks!

Just wonderful work, thank you very much.

Have you considered JE-J belonging to Sqn Ldr "Johnnie" Johnson of "Wing Leader" fame. Not sure if he flew a Mk II though. I believe he flew with "Tin Legs" Bader as well.

It would be a brilliant addition.

Thanks for the skin pack, they're lovely. I'm wondering about P7350's letters though. In 1940 she was called XT-W, and nowadays she carries XT-L. Look here for details:
