Hello,
This is a known issue, but I can verify that when I switch views on A2A Piper J-3 Cub P3Dv5 will freeze and then goes to black screen and computer shutdowns/reboots. I did use the new A2A installer released yesterday.
I don't want to beat a dead horse, this has been on forums already and seems to be an AMD driver issue. If you have issues with CTD using RX 5700 series graphics card don't drive yourself crazy, you are not alone.
This happens on a totally clean install of P3Dv5 as well as using ORBX libraries with True Earth Netherlands.

So far the A2A Bonanza after install yesterday has caused me no issues at all (keeping fingers crossed).
System this was run on:
P3D v5.0.24.34874 on Win 10 64 bit (1909)
1 x 1920x1080 ASUS VG249 Monitor driven by 1xAMD RX 5700 8GB
ASRock 8550AM Gaming with AMD Ryzen 7 3700X @ 3.6GHz, 16GB Mem (3000MHz) GeIL EVO Potenza
SSD/HDD 7200
If you want any logs/reports I will be glad to respond with them.
Thanks.

Re: RX 5700 P3Dv5 Cub CTD on change view
Hello,
yes this is an AMD issue so only those with certain AMD based GPU's will have issues with PBR models within the P3D platform. Lockheed are apparently in contact with AMD over this, but I'd advise you to post this on the P3D support forums as its not something we can fix.
Side note, only the Cub and C172 are PBR enabled within the A2A fleet at the date of this post you will be OK with the legacy models that are not made with the PBR workflow. By Default I believe only a couple aircraft in P3D itself are PBR enabled including the new Lockheed turbo prop + F16 so best to avoid those too.
thanks,
Lewis - A2A

Thank you for the response Lewis and verifying which A2A planes use PBR textures. I'll definitely stay current with the P3D forums. Even though I will stay away from the Cub until AMD & Lockheed figure this out I still appreciate your fast turnaround on a A2A P3Dv5 installer for the Cub since most people will not experience this issue and will enjoy just flying it.

Just FYI. I'm also suffering this infernal issue!
Crash on view change in the Piper Cub.
System:
3900x 32GB
Radeon VII
Have reported on the Prepar3d forums. Apparently Beau says they are investing in a high end AMD machine for the office for testing. So going forwards, hopefully AMD support is improved!
