What about a Supercub ?

Post by colibrisim »

Hi everybody,

I'm building a Supercub simulator. A full sized metal framed, 2 seated one. A copy as close as can be of the real thing. Here are pictures of the work in progress

The panel (in progress)

... wich will fit in this

... and I dream of Accusiming it !
I have a quite good Accu-feeled add-on but it's not the same ...
You've already got the basis with the J3, a PA18 is a steroid fed big brother ! You "just have" to fit a Lycoming O-320 in it.

Could this dream come true sometime ?

No plans for a supercub from us at this time, however that sim you are working on is really quite something, right up there with the Spitfire and B-17 cockpit builders we have posting here. 8)

Yep, there are some crazy guys like us on this earth ... maybe not really with the feet on earth ...

Well, you know what is left for you to do : change your plans ASAP
No kidding : with the very good basis of the J3, I think that 3/4 of the work is already done. And the Supercub remains a very popular aircraft all over the world, mainly in Alaska and Canada. There have been more than 19000 Cubs built by Piper, and small manufacturers and individuals are still producing it.
Think about it !

Wow... from the looks of your project all you need to do is slap some wings and a motor on it and you've already got yourself a nice homebuilt Super Cub!

Great job!

Glad you bumped this one Mike, I too am interested in where this went.

By the way Redbird reently built a simulator around our Piper Cub. Heres the Redbird simulator built around and running A2A Simulations Piper Cub;

I'm also interested in this, and I'd certainly like to second a request for a accusim Super Cub. I've been doing more bush flying lately, and while the current cub is pretty great for it, I'd like the supercub to replicate a bit more the sort of plane that gets more use there.

I'm bumping this because I really want to see a decent super cub from a2a. :D

Since it doesn't exist, does anyone have any recommendations for any similar bush planes worth picking up from anyone? I love the J-3, but it's sometimes just a bit underpowered for tight squeezes I like to challenge myself to fly into/out of.
