For anyone who's wondering, the "other" thread JIMJAM and CodyValkyrie are referring to is this one, and Scott's post re: the in-progress hotfix for the prop drag issue is here. Thought you might want to know...

Thanks Alan, that's the one I was referring to.

I was just wondering why it was being talked about over there and not here, on the official forums. I can't check all forums across the web ya know!

No hard feelings, I appreciate the constant support and tweaking going on behind the scenes. Thanks guys.

Am guessing they've just got too many forums to cover and too little time - which is where us "volunteers" come in...

Is this still being worked on?

Hotfix (v1.11) is now up. Added to the bottom of the first post in the v1.1 patch thread, sticked above.

Just flew it with the hotfix. Being a real Cub pilot, this is my comment:

THEY GOT IT RIGHT, FOLKS. This is the real deal now. The Cub is now PERFECT.

Thanks!

Well actually the ground effect and pre stall buffet are .......
Just kiddin.

Now you can really shrink the Cub into some really tight places.
What would really be the cherry on top would be a good and weathered interior. Boots, dirt, gravel strips = interior of a old contruction pickup truck. Needs some windshield grime. Alot like factory fresh but I cant say Ive ever seen one. Especially a Cub.
I want,I want I want...........
Nahh Im happy. Bring on the Phantom.

Thanks A2A for the tweak.

I take it you haven't looked at the repaint repository yet?

It is just me, or does the Cub handle a little differently in flight now, not just on approach?

I was trying out the hotfixed version in a couple of settings and I could swear it was a little less stable in the air, more affected by wind gusts and turbulence (there was also a hairy moment at Hervey Bay that felt like a wake turbulence upset, though it might just have been gusts).

Maybe the revised prop drag is having an effect under power, too, and not just at idle?

Or am I imagining all that?

If it's real, it's a good thing - feels even more like a (very) light airplane.

Great work, Scott and team!

No other code was revised, I think you might be feeling a bit of a placebo effect. It should have no perceptible effect on performance of the plane otherwise. All the change did was rework some code that changed the way the plane's prop efficiency works at lower power settings, and unfortunately other coded factors were playing interference in this regard. Normal cruise should be exactly the same.

As always, I'm willing to be wrong however if an A2A team member says otherwise.

I'd be happy with placebo effect... it's worked for me before.

Maybe the combined effect of a lot of added realism - it was my first visit to Hervey Bay, it was really busy in the pattern, and ASA was creating some really interesting gusts within 1-200 feet of the ground.

But if there's more happening in the code, that'd be interesting to know, too.

In any case, it's an even more satisfying experience now.

That's all that matters, right? It is always nice to hear that customers are satisfied. A2A works very hard to create some of the most immersive content created for FS, and if it wasn't for the customers they wouldn't exist. They are all too aware of this.

Enjoy the plane and be sure to continue sharing your experiences. She's a doll, isn't she? :D
