Recognize this radio Captain Jakey is using?

All hail Capt'n Jakey!

Is he looking up at the sky watching a plane fly and listening to the radio chatter?

Awesome!

I have it's almost identical twin brother programmed for operation on the Amateur Radio 2M band.

Come on guys. This is the radio we used in the Cub.

Jake is holding it with a leather cover on it. I've had this radio for about 15 years. It was with me on every flight as a backup, along with a Leatherman knife, flashlight, a big old can of pledge (cleaning the leading edge of the wings), and a can of silicone spray to keep the yoke shafts nice and free.

For the radio, we removed the cover and the 2d panel is a nice photo of it. The sounds you hear when you turn it on and off are the actual sounds it makes. Don't forget, it has an older battery too, so it has about 2 hrs max battery life. A little "battery" word will pop up when the batter is low, just like the real thing.

And what a beauty the L-39 is. In reality and in FSX - Lots of personality, especially the looong engine spool time.

Hmmmmm........ looks suspiciously like the one I left in a Champ at Chino a couple of years back....hmmmmm...

I spy a P-51 Mustang. Some on site research maybe?
