Morse code

Post by pj_3 »

Sorry to ask what might be a basic FSX thing, but I`m stumped. I`m beginning my flights anywhere in the PACNW area, Cold n Dark, and each time I hear the local VOR ident in the headset. I`ve turned the hand radio off, and the aircraft has no radio - but still I hear it. Doesn`t happen with any other aircraft.

What stupid thing am I missing????

Thanks,

pj

pj_3 ....... My guess is the aircraft you had loaded just prior to the Cub had either one of the Nav radios or the ADF set to Ident..... Most likely the ADF.

If you load the Stock Cessna 172..... look at the nav panel and make sure everthing is turned off then load the Cub and you'll probably be fine.

Try to edit AIRCRAFT.CFG file(s), find [Radios] section and change

Audio.1 = 1

to

Audio.1 = 0

That sounds like the answer, Rob. I didn't even think of that, so thanks. Also "thanks" to Steve - that's the first thing I looked at: I usually fly the LSH Maddog - which is hyper about the previous Cold n Dark aircraft, so I knew that wasn't it.. Anyway I'll look at the cfg file tonight: I'm sure that's the fix.

Cheers.

Didn't make any difference, Rob: I commented out all except vhf1 and the transponder, in each of the .cfg files, yet still had the morse loud as ever. Ideas?

Try this:

Audio.1 = 0
Com.1 = 1, 0
Com.2 = 0, 0
Nav.1 = 0, 0, 0
Nav.2 = 0, 0, 0
Adf.1 = 0
Transponder.1 = 1
Marker.1 = 0

Commenting isn't a solution as the game sets its default values if we don't set them.

Did as you suggested, Rob, and it's fixed. Many thanks! Now - how do we get more conversation from Heidi.... :)
