Typical cruise rpm

Post by awash2002 »

I would like to know what everyone is using for cruise rpm on their own J3 Cubs and I need a lot of help with picking a good time to stop for fuel with a typical cruise power setting

It's been a LONG time ago.............but if I remember right I think we cruised our J3 at 2150RPM and we used 5ga/hr for fuel.

That Cont 65 is like a lawn mower engine. You really can't hurt it unless you over speed the prop.
