Flight One's Mustang

Post by Buzz313th »

Just outa curiosity, are you guys gonna beat flight one to the punch in releasing the Accusimmed P-51?

I'm sure your model is gonna have more depth because of the accusim addon and I'm sure because of it, takes more time for development.

Guess they didn't want to answer that one, but I'd like to know the same thing. BTW, because of the instrument placement, the P-51H in FS9 was easier to fly than the P-51D. you could see what you were doing better. Why not an H version of the accusimmed P-51?

The only Flight1 Mustang I could find info on is this one: http://www.flight1.com/products.asp?product=f1mustang
Obviously, these two products can coexist and A2A didn't have to rush to beat to the punch. ;)

SkyCat,

There was some discussion and some screen shots of a P-51 Flight1 will market at SOH a few weeks ago. I might be wrong, but I think the real developer is Aeroplane Heaven. The screen shots look good but it won't be an A2A level product in my opinion.

If this is true and the competing P-51 is Aeroplane Heaven produced, I agree that it won't be A2A's level -- even without Accu-Sim.

This is too true.
The Flight1 Mustang's VC isn't anything like as realistic as A2A's in the screenshots.

It does look really nice though. I'll probably get both.

it could be me, but I have the feeling the shape of the nose is wrong, too pointy.
I also feel the textures are a bit blurry, but we'll have to wait for the final version...

I've discovered one thing if nothing else during the time I've been involved first in the sim community as a whole, and specifically with A2A.

Although it's true there will always be a market share that includes purchasers who will buy a product because a developer offers it first, it will be the wise buyer who realizes that the kind of product offered to them by developers like A2A isn't produced with "beating the other guy" in mind.
For myself, speaking as a Mustang pilot in real life, and as a member of the A2A team, I can tell you I have yet to see anything even close to the quality , accuracy, and fidelity A2A is putting into it's new Accusim products. I feel so strongly about this I have turned down offers from other developers to assist them with Mustangs.
If my opinion on Mustangs means anything, I would STRONGLY advise prospective purchasers in the market for an FSX P51 to simply enjoy the P47 with Accusim for a bit while A2A develops it's P51. Just flying the WOP3 Jug will give you a smattering of what the Mustang will be like when released.
In my opinion A2A products are for the SERIOUS sim enthusiast . If a buyer simply wants a pretty Mustang, there are several available; but if you are a serious Mustang sim pilot, and you want a 51 that I personally as a 51 check pilot would use to introduce a real world pilot to the Mustang, than I would advise that those wanting such a Mustang wait a bit longer.

I agree, Dudley.
I had a look at the other Mustang (I was asked to paint it), but deleted it. I'll wait.... and no, I'm not a member of the A2A team, I just paint aircraft occasionally.
...though hopefully I don't have to wait too long? Any progress guys?
