The prop....

Post by pj_3 »

:( I`m sorry, guys... much as I (and my wife) love the F4U.. the flaps, the bent wing, that tail, the sound - gad! the sound - it`s music! it`s the best.. I love this aeroplane.. and I`m not ordinarily a whiner, or complainer... but that prop.... external side view to plus/minus twenty degrees.. it looks like... a bunch... of thin... sticks whirling around... :( :(

Am I the only one?

This is too true.
The prop blades are too long and thin.
However, i do know that this is the budget range, and for a budget aircraft, this is still a real delight to fly and beats the AH corsair for fs9

Yeah, I have the whole AH Corsair set for FS9, it was ok, but disappointing considering the price. Maybe A2A will address this issue as well when they give it the AccuSim treatment.

I agree that the prop could be better. It was a monster prop by any standard but doesn't show up well. If the yellow prop tips were more defined I think it would show better. I swapped out my prop texture with a p-51B. It's not as good as it could be, but now you can see how big the prop really was. Plus my F4U-1 now has a 4 bladed field mod. It would be better though if A2A changed the textures themselves. Just my opinion.

Here's a better prop I've been working on. You can give it a try.
Can't attach it here right now but you can email me for it.
