Well, it's been discussed in the P47 forum, so let's get started. There seems to be an agreement that the first target should be Berlin. We will be flying only WOP aircraft. Most likely:
B-17F
B-17G
B-24D
B-24J
Lancaster(both versions)
Escort will be P-51 and P-47. We can limit the aircraft versions people should fly for historical accuracy if it is agreed to.
Intercept will be Fw-190(any version except F8 for obvious reasons).
We need to know who is willing to join and what times they can fly. Also we need to decide on a departure airport. Plus what server to use. Netwings would be my first choice.
These are just some general rules/ideas I had. Feel free to change or add to them.

Would it be closest to historical accuracy to put early Razorback P47D's against Fw190A-4 and Fw190A-5 engaging B17F and B24D? Kind of 1943 timeframe before Ponies arrived. Then later on Fw190A-8 and Fw190A-9 against P51D and P47D later versions with bombers B17G and B24J? Timeframe 1944 to 1945. Just a suggestion

Yeah, that was kind of what I was thinking. I would leave out the P-47N, XP-72, and possibly the P-51H. Also I would leave out the He-162 and Ta-183, but if someone really wanted to fly them, I guess it would be ok. In the late war phase the P-47M would be ok.
For 1943 timeline Fw190A3 will be ok also.
Your aircraft match ups seem like a very good idea

I would leave out these "what if" planes altogether as they saw no or VERY limited action. He162 got 2 confirmed aerial kills against one lost, so it is in the twilight zone IMO. P47D Razorback/Bubbletop, P47M and P51D would be on spot, just putting correct versions to their corresponding timeframe. Is there any good Fw190D-9's for FS9? It is not to be left out as it was serving in numbers. Bf109G-6, Bf109G-14, Bf109G-10 and Bf109K-4 are still needed as the Bf109 formed the backbone of Luftwaffe.
For example:
B17F and B24D encountered Fw190A-4 and Fw190A-5, possibly Fw190A-6. Escorts were up to Aachen P47D Razorbacks. Great for early days of the daylight bombings. Schweinefurt anyone?

Thanks Terror
We will need plenty of people to fly the bombers, so anyone how does, thank you. In terms of the date of the mission, I'm not sure yet. It will depend on when the P-47 is released . Not sure if this is going to be true, but since this flight will happen sometime after the release of the P-47 it is possible that we will have people who are only interested in flying the Jug, or only just the fighters. If you are able, and comfortable flying the bombers, please do so.
Of course, you can fly whatever WOP plane you want.
I was thinking that for accuracy we should use multiple aircports for departure. For the B-17 I was thinking of using your 401st Deenethorpe base
Terror, if you don't mind.
Not sure on what other airports to use for the other aircraft, so if you have a suggestion please post it
Everyone who is interested in this flight please post here so we know how many pilots are coming

As for using my base I would be glad to have it used. As for the B-17 it is till my AC of choice. I get little time to actualy fly but whrn I do I try to fly the b-17. I have the flight charts and fly using them as much as possible. I would be glad to fly bomber and hopefully we can get a decent # to fly them also.

To see them you will have to have them. A list of wop ac being used will need to be posted. If the only heave is going to be the B-17 then either the b-17 pack or the full wop heavy set will work. If other bombers wil be used then the wop heavy set will be required. As for a fighter base I know Raydon is not far from denethorpe and P-47's flew from it.

Possibly Lancaster B Mk.111 depending if anyone wants to fly it.
I'll will either be in the B-17F or B-24D, depending on which we need more of.
Terror, is Raydon a stock airbase?
Nobutone is available at www.simouthouse.com I believe. Either Cees or Ian did it.
