Bf 109 take-off tutorial scenario:
- TO and LNDG tutorials done separately
- instructions given using text with transparent background
- camera set so stick and rudder pedals are visible during the whole recording
- instructions given on-screen before TO run:
* Detailed game info to avoid "what game is it?" questions, recording method, controllers used to control the AC
* Know the procedure (Taxiing and TO - displayed on the next screen) and key commands (optionaly displayed on the next screen OR key commands for each action needed at a time given in brackets), have your controller properly configured (separate tutorial)

**Taxiing:
- always gently with brakes and significant elevator up to avoid overturn
- propeller setting: FULLY FINE (propeller control lever up) /location of the lever marked in-cockpit/
- start to roll on the wheels by increasing throttle
- decrease throttle as soon as you start to roll (much more throttle is needed to move from full stop than to roll)
- roll slowly
- for a tight left turn apply left rudder together with left wheelbrake (,)
- right rudder together with right wheel brake (.) (for a short time) to stop the direction change
- apply both wheel brakes for a full stop
- lean to sides (Q) (W) to improve in-cockpit visibility and do check what's in front of you by doing slow S before you start to roll ahead. Make another S during rolling ahead

TO procedure to be displayed on the screen before the tutorial:
- canopy closed or will be blown off
- propeller setting: FULLY FINE (propeller control lever up) /location of the lever marked in-cockpit/
- elevator trim: NEUTRAL
- Flaps: DOWN 20 degrees ((V) two times ?!? )
- Wheel brakes: RELEASE (,) (.)
- take off /insert a figure simillar to that from manual, page 193)/
- retract landing gear and confirm it's final position
- climb at max RO speed
- Flaps: fully UP (F two times)


- instructions given on-screen during TO run:
- AC prepared for TO
- slowly increase throttle to 50-75%%
- wait for yawing to kick in and counteract with strong right rudder (right kick)
- keep the wings leveled. At low speeds: right wing "falling" -> kick it (apply right rudder) ; at higher speeds use the stick
- avoid throwing AC controls around ; Seek for balance with initial decisive input an gentle following inputs. Try to remember the controls positions if they gave you the desired effects.
- throttle 100% after yawing kicked in
- lift off at 160 kph (100 mph) and level out after two seconds! (do not climb yet)
* you can lift off when AC is starting to be light on wheels (it starts to bounce)
- retract landing gear and confirm it's final position
/how do the indicator lamps work in-game ?!? /
- Flaps: fully UP (F two times)
- attain max ROC speed of 250+ kph
- climb at max ROC speed

There is an error with imprecise propeller pitch setting but it won't send you down in flames. Also in the "wing leveling exercise" part there is "wing leveling is caused by improperly applied..." while it shoud be "wing droping is caused by improperly applied...". There will probably be more errors but it should do for now.

As for landing tutorial, I have to lay off for a week or so... :(

For an aerofoil ie a rudder to be effective it needs 'lamina air flow' which is a flow of smooth air. The opposite is 'turbulent air flow' which basically is full of small turbulence ie rough air. Too much air flow thrust upon the aerofoil to quickly destroys the smooth lamina flow and the effectiveness of the aerofoil, hence the takeoff advice 'make hast slowly'.

The Spitfire rudder was kept small to reduce drag in flight, at slow speeds therefore it needs to be up in the airflow to be effective so on takeoff keep the nose down.

When landing with the speed down and especially at the end of a side-slip as the tail lowers, again it loses efficiency and the aeroplane can wander, then is the time for a short burst of power to enable the rudder to do its job and straighten the aeroplane up.
