B377 Night lighting in cockpit

Post by Styggron »

HI everyone,
In the cockpit we have a switch for cabin lights, I can't seem to find a separate switch to just have the red lights so at night I can have a darker cockpit lit only by the red lights.
If I sit at the navigator's seat and look up, I can see red lights.

I guess I was hoping to switch off the "cabin lights" and expected all red lights to come up but geerally if I try to turn the cabin lights off at night, they automatically get switched back on, I guess that is the other crew members putting them back on, not sure.

(Yes I have COTS installed ....... of course :))

Can anyone assist with the red lights? is there a way to turn them on and off?
Thank you.

Make a backup of the aircraft.cfg file.
Then open aircraft.cfg file and search for

[lights]
//Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing
//front-aft, l-r, up-dn

light.0 = 4, 35.2, 0.75, 4.15, fx_wos_b377_vclight_w <<<
light.1 = 4, 35.2, -0.6, 4.15, fx_wos_b377_vclight_w <<<
light.2 = 10, 31.45, -0.4, 5.5, fx_wos_b377_vclight_w <<<
light.3 = 4, 32, -0.95, 4.9, fx_wos_b377_vclight_r
light.4 = 4, 26.68, -1.64, 4.00, fx_wos_b377_vclight_w <<<
light.5 = 7, 0, 0, 0, fx_wos_b377_crank
light.6 = 4, 2.08, -36.7344, -3.872, fx_wos_B377_left_fuse_lights
light.7 = 4, 2.08, 36.7344, -3.872, fx_wos_B377_right_fuse_lights
light.8 = 2, -71.2, 0, 8.264, fx_wos_B377_strobe
light.9 = 3, -5.0512, 71.012, 3.4424, fx_wos_B377_navgre
light.10 = 3, -5.0512, -71.012, 3.4424, fx_wos_B377_navred

Change lines 1,2,3,5 replacing the 'w' with 'r' (white light for red light)
Restart the sim to see the result.

Thank you for that, so first 3 lines so light 0,1,2 and 4.

Ok so there is no switch to just give you red lights, that's a pity. I guess the real one didn't have it :'(
