Hello Flyboy,

I'm doing nearly the same route first time this saturday. Going to t/o off from Gander at 1600Z taking the ship to EDNY.

I'm only useing traditional navigation: navaids, dead reckon and sextant.

Your flight time should be around 8.5 hours concerning the actual winds.

Sounds like you could do with this:

It's exactly what was used during transatlantic flights of the period. I've tried it out in Manfred Jahn's B-50, and it works beautifully. Don't set off without it.

Hi,

I read your response from some time ago with great interest ! I have been flying with FSX for about a year now. Before that with FS9.1 for about 10 years ! Almost everything with authentic navigation such as the "BB Sextant" by Dave Bitzer. NDB polls, LF Radio, Around the World AE & FN, etc.
My question to you is whether you fly in FSX with Sextant / Octant! If so, is there a realistic reliable Sextant present ? And where can I get it ?

Greeting,
Guus.
