Is it possible to disable self shadows on the wires?

With the Flying Tigers shark-toothed paint, the P40 is the most famous fighter of the second world war.

Is it possible to disable self shadows on the wires?

Post by Solareagle »

The low res shadows make for really ugly wire shadows. Is it possible to disable the shadows on that?

I noticed the Captain Sim C-130 does not have wire shadows, which is the way to go if you ask me, as you don't need them.

If its not possible for users to disable the shadow maybe it can be done if there are any future updates to the P-40, or on future shockwave aircraft.

I'm sure most would rather not have the wire shadows than have the ugly ones.

I'd wager that the CaptainSim C-130 isn't a true FSX aircraft designed from the ground up too...

I would do some research before making such a wager, as it certainly is a full FSX rebuild, with .dds textures, bump maps, self shadows, chioce of speculars, and no performance hit, which is impressive for such a detailed aircraft.

Fair enough then - I stand corrected

I'm NOT one of the most that you're absolutely sure about :)

Panther,

May I be the first to say, EH!?

Solar Eagle I am not 100% I follow you but I think I get the kist of it. Unfortunatly to make a pure FSX model shadows are expected and I cant test it right now But I guess that the shadows look better in dx10 mode?

Lewis,
I like the wire shadows :D - But thanks for the response from your expert experience on this matter... - and it adds weight my first theory that the CS-130 isn't a pure FSX aircraft from the ground up
