Hi All,
as mentioned, the aircraft is designed perfect, but on my machine, I get very poor frame rates (~ 15) even outside of big cities. I own the P-51D FSX too, which "runs" much faster, i.e. (> 20 fps) under same conditions.
Regards
Bruno
Visually great - but very poor frame rates

Well, here is my assumption...
The FSX model is fairly large and by far the most detailed aircraft made specifically for FSX to date. The P-51D models are somewhat of a throwback to their early FS2004 creation. The P-51D also does not have anything close to the simulation of the systems within the B-17 and thus is fairly straight forward when compared.
The advanced systems, modeling, textures and of course size all contribute to a loss in frames perhaps. On that note, I am running an AMD 3500+ with 1 GB of PC-3200 RAM with a Radeon 1900XTX and experience no frame rate issues. With the exception of my card, my system is quite modest.
Have you attempted to "tweak" your .cfg settings or lower your texture resolutions etc as dependant on your system? You may need to create a graphic save file specifically for when you fly the B-17 if you cannot gain a few FPS otherwise.
And don't forget, remove all that junk from your system tray and DEFRAG!
Good luck.

Yeah, it is a wierd number. I have the 8800 GTX and its memory is 768mb I believe. Something about the new chip's archintecture requires it, though.bloodyHeap wrote:320MB Video. ??? 320...Why would they add an extra 64mb mod to a 256? Why not just bump that up to a 512 or 384...bringing the 64mb chip back into style I reckon lol.
