Oil Temps Gauges

I wonder why Boeing and other aircraft companies made some of the gauges register in Celsius vs Fahrenheit as you have emulated.

That is a really good question, and one I’ve never been able to find an absolute certain answer. Lots of speculation that its always used in regards to temperatures because 0 is freezing and 100 is boiling, but that only pertains to water. Two numbers on a gauge (In almost all applications) easier to read than three?
