As I'm flying on my yet to be planned long tour from The Netherlands to (Greece at the moment). I noticed that when I've got the general sound of the sim on my speakers and the rest on my headphones (headphones are the primary device). The engine sounds continue to work just fine on the speakers even with the headphones option on.
To save you guys from a long and complicated explanation, it's very immersive to wear headphones and hear your crew loud and clear while also hearing the engines clearly.

Accu-sim sounds will play through the systems default sound device.
