Music to fly by

Post by geopetlas »

Hey guys,

I've always loved the music from the 30s and 40s, (movies, too. Guess I was born to late)

Anyway, I thought I would share with you a music station to listen to on those long flights. Go to IiHeartRadio, In the search bar type in "Benny Goodman" then select Benny Goodman and Glenn Miller Radio from the Artists section, sit back and enjoy.

Now if you'll excuse me I thinks I'll go and enjoy me some real music!

I guess Count Basie was active on that age too. Not sure if it's included in B17

Me too. I just unable to restrain myself tapping my foot and humming whenever I hear classic swing jazz music, lol. I think I was born 60 years too late ;)

Fairly certain Count Basie is included in the selections on the B-17.

Her's a link to archives of GI Jive, if you're interested in assembling your own playlist.

Thanks for the info, George!

After thinking back on things, there was a bar located on W6th street, I believe, in Cleveland, OH. back in the late 80's and I if recall correctly it was called, Spy. One day a week they would have Swing Night. The people would come in dressed in their finest '40's attire, the band would play swing music, and they would all dance.

There were some real Ducky shincrackers moving on the floor!

What fun!

Is it possible to add extra tracks to the sound folder (Sounds.pk?), or do you have to use an external player?
Rats! Why doesn't anything work properly first time?

I believe the music that is played in the sim is hard-coded into the program. The only way to listen to extra music while flying is via radio, cd, or website.

But I may be wrong.

That's true as I asked Lewis a while back about that and he said that nothing could be added.

Keep smiling
