Full size B-17 cockpit/instrument panel!

Post by Samster »

Hello! I have a new project I have been working on! It is a full size (6ft wide) B-17G flying fortress instrument panel. My dad and I have seen almost every flying B-17 out there of today. And for a very strange reason I have a lot of "memories" of being a pilot on a B-17G... A past life??? I know things about the past that I have never learned in this lifetime. Anyway, I am only 15 and I have a feeling of reincarnation that is inside of me. That is why I am doing this... To relive my past life.

So! I will tell you what is going on... All of the important gauges on this panel will hopefully work. Then, for the switches, levers and knobs are going to be fully functional (hopefully). And last but NOT least... The panel and center consoles shape! It will be a exact replica of a real thing!

Pitchers coming up very soon! I hope you like this!

-Sam
The bad news is time flies. Good news is you're the pilot.

Hey there Samster, it seems for some reason I was unable to see the photos as there was an error on the link. Below is what was on the page.

404. That’s an error.
The requested URL was not found on this server. That’s all we know.

Hi Samster,

I can't see the photos either.

It would be a good idea to find a photo hosting site and embed the photos here so they can be seen without having to click on a link.

I now use Flicker by Yahoo. It is free, and allows you 1 TB of space. I used to use ImageShack when they were free, but they changed to a pay site and deleted all the photos for my cockpit project. I had to go back and edit 28 pages of posts with re-uploaded photos from Flicker. So make sure you use a good quality site that will be around for awhile, and will likely stay free.

If your using google drive, remember to set the permissions of the images of the folder for public so you get the public link.

thanks,

Yep that works!

Looks really cool. I've come to love the B-17 just recently but she's an absolute stunner to fly.
