Here are two versions of my well worn but comfy B-17 cockpit.
The first one is slightly weathered with muted colors the second one is more weathered with a darker look and paint layers, water seepage and more.
Almost all cockpit textures have been changed as well as night textures and gauges. You will notice there is a different throttle console texture with a power setting decal and is from a real 17 I found. Some of the guages are tinted with age and some are newer showing them being replaced at one time. I used a different style yoke wheel cap that was also used at that time. So many details that I will leave up to you to discover and enjoy. You will also get choice between a pinup verson and a non pinup version.
Both versions available for download at Flightsim.com or SimOuthouse.com in their FSX files area. Go to file search page and search for "B-17 Paul Grubich"

No seriously, yes I would be interested in that used cockpit. Will you be uploading it somewhere?

Anyways, yes, I would love to have a worn cockpit. Will you be making one that looks like its been buried in England for 50 years?
Re: Anyone interested in a well used cockpit?
Thanks for the response, I hope to have it done yet this week but there are several textures and layers to work with so not sure of eta. I also have a pm in for Scott to ask permission to give this out.
The picture is done by first finding a picture, this one is Jennifer Connely and is from the Rocketeer movie (my favorite movie and actress). I aged and sized the picture and gave it some ragged edges like it has been around. I then layered it to the panel. I found some tape graphics on the net and cut and sized them to fit. I layered the tape over the picture and chose a layer property of 28 to make the tape transperant so it looks like Scotch tape and the picture edges show. I could do some personal versions if requested.
The cockpit by A2A is a painters dream and nightmare rolled into one. A dream because they use seperate textures for each part, switch, dial, box and others. This lets me detail more items as most developers use a blanket texture for several items making it impossible to do just the throttle levers for instance. A nightmare because of the same, lol, lots and lots of textures. I can see why no one tried this before.
I am between graphic jobs at this time so I can finally give this a go. This is great fun and a challenge for me and something I have wanted to do to for a very long time.

Re: Anyone interested in a well used cockpit?
Yes you may give it out as a repaint, the rules for this are no different. It is simply a repaint of the interior and we welcome repainters as we did for the worn cub paints.
Cant wait to give it a go

The worn cockpit looks great Warbirds.
Perhaps a pinup girl from the war years on the panel?
Looking forward to this.

Re: Anyone interested in a well used cockpit?
I need a texture file. If anyone can send me "vc1_n.dds" from the main texture folder (this folder contains all the cockpit textures and is seperate from the named texture folders such as texture.liberty bell)
I seem to have not saved the original and need this to finish the job.
Send only that one texture to [email protected] and it needs to be from the accusim version.
thanks,
paul

Re: Anyone interested in a well used cockpit?
Looking great, Warbirds!!! Thank you so much for using your time and talents to do this. I, along with the rest of the community, can hardly wait. Will you include instructions on how we can add our own photos to the panel?
Re: Anyone interested in a well used cockpit?
Thanks Ron, that will help things move along now.
As for the picture you would need a paint program that does layers and be familiar with how layers work. I could add it in the readme though, good idea.
Lots of textures plus each texture has a night texture for the lighting effects that has to be done so maybe halfway there now. Still having fun and the end is in sight. Also hope to have a new screenshot update up today.
