Sorry for asking so many questions but, will the BU836x card except the rotary switches? If they do, I cannot get it to recognize the switches so I must be wiring it wrong.

No problem,
here is how to wire a rotary switch on your BU0836X card, for example with a switch limited to 4 buttons
Image
You only need to connect the center pin to one GND connector of your BU0836X card

Hope it will help,
Francois

Just to be sure, you may check that buttons are working (at least to an electrical point of view) within the Window's "Game Controllers" applet as shown below:

Otherwise I don't know well the BU0836X cards, I'm using the regular BU0836 with homemade diod matrix board.
May be try to cluster your inputs, i.e. try to use buttons 1 to 6 with the same common ground, then the # 7 to 12, 13 to 18 etc...?
Also check your wiring for bad soldering.

Got them all working. Funny thing, I dont think I had the box plugged in the reason I couldnt get the switches to be recognized before lol. Got to be sure to remember the little things too I guess

Yep, the number of times I have had the flap lever lower the gear, or half the switches stop working, swear, curse, threaten to burn the lot...only to find that I have reversed some wires or failed to connect a USB cable........

Message to altack,

I am interested in the file to make the decals for the control board, you also mentioned that you had done one for a DC-3.

Can you send me the files, I am making a control board for a DC-3, and I like what you did with the B-17, especially the mag switch, both the DC3 and B-17 used the Type B-5 mag switch.

Here is my email:

Francois

Any way I can get you to upload the deleted pictures??
I just received my Leo Bodnar board, and I want to build something similar of yours. If I can get 20% of the look yours have I'll be more than happy!
Kind Regards
Tomas
