After a nice drive to and from Oshkosh on Saturday, and getting to meet Lewis and Scott, I finally have another paint ready.
This was a request from Tom at the 91st BG, and I took forever getting it finished for him. Done, ready to fly, and I hope you enjoy.

91st BG, 324th BS. Named by pliot John Klotz's wife, Eileen, who's name is also painted on the nose. Maxine, also painted on the nose, was the bombardier's girlfriend. Lost Jul 16, 1944, hit by flak over Augsburg, ditched in the North Sea.

Thanks!
What number does this bring your b-17 fleet up to?

What particularly tickles me is the extensive research Mike did, his exquisite attention to detail, and the painstaking effort he put into getting her just right.
Notice the oil and exhaust stains on the wings, for example. Now, you'd think they just blow straight back, wouldn't you? In fact they don't thanks to interaction between the swirling propwash and fuselage. The starboard ones curl toward the fuselage, the port ones blow straight back. Rummage around some B-17 sites and you'll see this in photos.

Cracking work on the repaint!
I'd like to download her once I get home, no doubt Thursday at the earliest.
Cheers,
Lewis
