How about a P-38 and a Corsair

Post by RichardIII »

I just had a brilliant idea!! :P How about a Shockwave P-38 and Corsair package for FS9 and FSX?
Seriously, are there any plans for these two planes? There are some other payware companies releasing a P-38 (I think), but I'd rather see a Shockwave version. Any word?

I think the chances of a WoP F4U and P-38 are pretty small but you never know. There's just too many others done. I do wish they'd do something from the PTO, like a WILDCAT. But I'd be happy to have any US plane with an ARRESTING HOOK! I'd be happy to see anything new at this point, it's been much too long since the last WoP birds!!!!!!!! S/F MudMarine

P-38

Picture this: A photo recon p-38 that actually takes screen shotd from the proper spot in the fuselage. Making a screenie a little more realistic. But I am a lowley Plane Captain with VMAQ-2. So I have to lean towards a Corsair. After all Chesty would like that. S/F Marines

I would LOVE to see Shockwave do an Avenger but anything that hasn't been done to death would be great. :D

How about a WWII Naval Aviation Pack . Complete with the Wings of Gold on the box. I'd pay good money for a shockware F4F,F6F,SBD,TBF,F4U.

Go Airdales !!

NAVAL A/C WOULD BE GREAT, BUT A FUNCTIONAL CARRIER FOR THEM TO LAND ON WOULD BE EVEN BETTER AND GENERATE MUCH REVENUE FOR SHOCKWAVE.

AS FAR AS I KNOW THERE ARE NO TRAPABLE CARRIERS IN FSX, AND TO INSTALL A FREEWARE TAKES EXPERTIECE MOST OF US DON'T HAVE.

I WOULD BUY THAT GAME IN A MINUTE , ESPECIALLY IF I COULD LAND MY FW-190 ON IT. I KNOW IT'S HISTORICALLY INACCURATE , BUT IF I BOUGHT THE GAME I'DE OWN THE CARRIER. I COULD TRY ALL MY A/C ON IT.

ANYWAY, I VOTE FOR CORSAIRS WITH AN ESSEX CLASS CARRIER.

Abacus software makes a payware add-on called Flight Deck 4, which is being upgraded for FSX. Check it out:

Best carrier for the WW2 aircraft would be a Essex Class. An Independence Class CVL would be cool too!!

1. Regarding carriers, there is a freeware USS Stennis that is available at http://www.maam.org/flightsim/enhance/s ... nhance.htm There is a WWII carrier scenery there also.

2. Seriously, has there been any consideration by the Shockwave team to build a P-38 for FS? It would make perfect sense to do so if Shockwave is still revamping MicroProse's "B-17: The Mighty Eighth." The original Mighty Eighth had a flyable Lightning.

I know Sky Unlimited and others have P-38s but I've developed a strong preference for Wings of Power planes.
