For some unknown reason my Virtual Fly TQ6 (twin-engine TPM) in Window 10 with P3D v5.3 has stopped working and is giving me the following error message:
"Window Explorer
USB device not recognized
The last USB device you connected to
this computer malfunctioned, and
Windows does not recognize it."
Note: the TQ6 has been working with no problems. This occurred unexpectedly.
The following are what I have tried based on internet suggestions; they did not work.
1. Disconnect power plug at the computer then reconnect.
2. Update USB drivers.
3. Made a change in the registry. Removed change.
4. Followed a procedure from the internet to change the errant USB
5. Connected the QT6 to two other computers, still getting the same error message.
6. I disconnected the rudder, yoke, switcho engine, lights and trim modules and connected just the QT6.
7. I check the continuity of the four wires of the USB, they all read the same, a few ohms of resistance.
8. Updated software installed
I am thinking it is the VF-QT6 unit's electronics?
Any suggestion?
Thank you,
Pat
P.S. I am still waiting for a reply form Virtual Fly.

Well you have really done the troubleshooting 101 there, so that's awesome. Unfortunately it also tends to point therefore to what you have mentioned. The unit itself being dead, the main thing being that you tried different ports on your main PC and then entirely separate systems also displaying the same, sorry to say its not sounding like a good out come. Hope VF are able to help you if you have any warranty or what not.
cheers,
Lewis

Re: Virtual Fly mult-engine throttle Quadrant not recognized.
Thank you Lewis!
I am waiting to here from Virtual Fly, hopefully they will pay for shipping. They are located in Spain. I'm very disappointed that it lasted only about seven months. Considering the price, it should have lasted for many years. My other computer has only Logitech hardware which is about eight years old and still going strong. I guess price is no guaranty of reliability.
Thank you again for your reply!

Re: Virtual Fly mult-engine throttle Quadrant not recognized.
It took about three weeks to get a new VirtualFly TQ6 Throttle Quadrant (twin-engine) from Spain (I live in the US) and it works perfectly. The old Quadrant WAS defective.
Thanks again for your assistance.

Re: Virtual Fly mult-engine throttle Quadrant not recognized.
Just as a heads up, I have had what appears to be a similar issue occur on a new V3rnio+ that I just received today.
Initially all was fine, connected, appeared immediately in VFHub, but after a couple of hours I noticed it had disconnected.
Now when I connect the unit I get a "Unknown USB Device (Port Reset Failed)" message and it no longer appears in VFHub. This is what I have tried:
I have tried disabling and uninstalling the Device in USBDeview and Device Manager.
I have tried two different powered USB Hubs.
I have ensured there are no power settings that sleep USB devices
I have updated to the latest VFHub
I have tried plugging the unit directly (no hub) into a second PC laptop with Windows 11 - the error message reads "The last USB device you connected to
this computer malfunctioned... etc"
Roger at Virtual Fly's support is always quick to respond - a word of advice, their support form on the website didn't seem to send through my message in the past, but their direct email support address seems to get through no issue (could be a browser issue?). Hopefully they can perform some wizardry and get the unit functioning again, but I fear it might be a hardware fault, given I am getting the error across two computers.
