VR Motion rig in place

Post by JonasBecsan »

Hi there! I recently acquired a motion rig to use with VR in MSFS. I ended up with DOF Reality H2. Only two degrees of freedom atm, pitch and roll, but the system is highly customizable and upgradadable, so the plan is the upgrade to more degrees of freedom when I have the means for it.

My setup looks very DIY for now, but I'm trying to get the functionality in place first. Besides, I won't see the sim in VR anyway!

So far I have tested it with a couple of different configurations. The feeling of flight is fantastic, though it does require some tweaking in Sim Racing Studio to get the motion just right.

In this video I am testing the rig in some turbulent weather. It got scary pretty fast and it will definitely make me be less reckless with my flying from now on! The rattling sound you can hear is not from the motion sim, but from a couple of objects I added for temporary counter weight. They had some loose bolts.
