Re: We need something new in the name for Accu-Sim
Now, here we have someone thinking outside the parcel... This is the best suggestion until now!

All the Accusim-planes are in my hangar, but they aren't sitting long enough for their engines to cool much before next flight!

Re: We need something new in the name for Accu-Sim
Personally I like Accu-Sim 2.0. Keeping Accu-Sim in the name will make the consumer immediately think of A2A Simulations, the company that brought Flight Simulation to life. It denotes that this new engine is based on the same concept that A2A Customers have come love. The 2.0 is a full jump in technology. If you went with Accu-Sim 1.2, for instance, the consumer would expect a slightly updated version but Accu-Sim 2.0 says that this is a brand new engine. It's Bigger, Better, Faster, More Realistic, More Refined, More Precise, A More "Accu"rate "Sim"ulation. Most importantly, it's worth your cash to invest in it as a customer. And, like you mentioned Scott, it gives you the opportunity to make slight improvements to it with a decimal point when needed and all can know that they are on the latest version.
Indeed the 1.0, 2.0, 3.0 scheme has been way overused but it is something that customers understand. They won't have to try to figure out what this new engine is by some weird, random or unconventional naming scheme might.
Cheers
Roger

Accu-Sim is where it's at. It's like a Dodge with a hemi. A Winchester Model 70. You know it's going to work. No need to change it.
Just my humble opinion.

‘Accu-Sim 2.0’ gets my vote. Is ‘Powered by Merlin’ even necessary? Using the word ‘Merlin’ could bring confusion so those who associate it with Merlin engine powered aircraft, as in ‘Oh, they only produce WWII era Spitfires etc. If it needs explanation then the message is likely lost before you get to explain it to the uninitiated. Just my 2c.

Hmm, after thinking about it yea, that makes sense. Maybe Accusim 2.0 makes best sense overall.
Also,
Happy new year and hopefully we will be flying the Comanche in MSFS soon!

Re: We need something new in the name for Accu-Sim
2.0 implies an actual version number so they'd have to constantly adjust it or it looks like Accusim development would have been stuck after the first aircraft release.
Re: We need something new in the name for Accu-Sim
Accu-Sim is like the base product of what has set A2A apart from other developers. Merlin is the new engine for Accu-Sim. So, IMHO, calling AccuSim-Powered by Merlin is the logical way to go. As time passes and Merlin is improved or upgraded then the addition of 2.0 etc would be appropriate and not take away from the base (Accu-Sim) that started it all.
(Example: Accu-Sim (the base) Powered by Merlin (the new engine) 2.0 (etc., newer/enhanced versions of the engine).
It’s still Accu-Sim, it has a new engine, and the next version of the new engine.
Happy New Year to All!

Re: We need something new in the name for Accu-Sim
Merlin is their internal code name. It's kind of like android. Each version of Android has an internal name that is a dessert. So the next iteration of accusim won't be Merlin.wblackret wrote: ↑01 Jan 2023, 12:52 Accu-Sim is like the base product of what has set A2A apart from other developers.
