General question about the default GNS 530 GPS in FS2020

This is the place where we can all meet and speak about whatever is on the mind.

I've been told it is an Asobo issue if anyone can confirm that?
Yes it is. But do not worry. Working Title is doing a major upgrade to all the stock Garmins. They've already done the G1000 NXi, and are nearing completion on the GNS and G3000. Once finished they will operate like the old RXP units. Oh, and this will be integrated into the base simulator eventually. All free.
You don't mean the the PMS50 mod for the G530, right? You mean Working Title plans to release a G530/G430 comparable to RXP?
I need to read up on WT to better understand all this.

Good to know. Thanks.

Yes. A native, powerful GNS 530/430W. Go to their Discord channel here and find the Preview section: https://discord.gg/xTne8dAT
Their G1000 NXi, already does this stuff - it's the best default avionics for any sim. Only beaten by the TDS GTN 750 Xi - which I use all the time.

I, for one, can’t wait for Working Title to complete their work on this. Their track record has been absolutely stellar.

I’ve been intrigued by the TDS, but I understand it doesn’t make use of Navigraph and the latest AIRACs, correct? It’s stuck with a somewhat older, but still mostly relevant AIRAC? How often do they update that?

With the old Flight1 GTN units which also used the Garmin database, the data was usually about a year behind and a newer update released about every 6 months. There is no guarantee though about the timings.
It does not use the Navigraph database or charts.
The TDS is also the GTNxi unit which is the latest, whereas the PMS unit is still the older GTN.
