Parking Brake Issue in 2020.

Post by DHenriques_ »

Parking brake issue in FS2020; Please note what I've tried already. I don't wish to waste your time and effort trying to help.
Thanks much.
Just curious if anyone else has this issue?
I’ve researched it extensively online and found others who have it exactly as I do but no solutions that work.
I’ve tried them all I think unless I’ve missed the one that fixes it.
Here’s the issue;
If I release the parking brake all is well. The plane taxies well and both the rudder (my TM TPR) and both brakes work as they should. But if I use the brakes to stop on the taxiway that engages the parking brake so that after stopping and trying to continue on again the plane won’t move as the parking brake is engaged. Cycle the parking brake and the plane will again move normally.
I’ve tried everything I can think of to find the gremlin. I’ve checked Windows, calibrated, reset the settings in the sim, took the pedals out and reinstalled them again, all of this several times.
It’s an issue in both default and add on planes.
I’ve checked every controller for duplicate assignments and conflicting axis………nothing !
Very perplexing ! LOL

Anyway, just a shot in the dark folks; do any of you either have this issue or have found the answer? If so, any news would be welcome.

Do you have/use FSUIPC?

What I do is to remove all assignments for the brake in MFSF, then map a couple of buttons to it in FSUIPC. I have an X52 Pro, so have it mapped on my stick rocker buttons.

I think something changed in the last "update" (or two) - as I don't remember having to do this dance in the past.

Thanks for the reply. No FSUIPC. Straight settings using the sim.
I'm working on it.
Thanks

DH,
I had exactly the same problem a few months ago.
From memory I think it was ticking the Reverse Check Bix in the Rudder settings.
If you look down at the pedals and watch them when you press them
Or it could have been to delete a key command for park brakes??

I found so many searches and tried so many things myself.
I will check my settings later when I am home.

Dudley,

Following on from my previous post.

I checked my setup, the checkbox action is no longer in it.

In your left and right brake setup there are two options,
ACTION TYPE - On Press or On release.
The above sounds similar to Reverse Axis.
I remember that my brakes on would allow the aircraft to move and off would make the aircraft stop.

Hopefully this is it.

Cheers,

Norm
