A2A is MIA
Re: A2A is MIA
I'm with Gary on MSFS in that for me one of the biggest drawbacks is loss of control due to the continuing reliance on live downloads. Its also why I think MSFS will like many other games eventually go to a monthly subscription model. Thats another big drawback for me. For now I'm doing fine with P3D.
Ryzen 7 5800X3D liquid cooled, OC to 4.5 ghz, Radeon XFX 6900XT Black edition, 2 tb M2 drive, 32 gb ddr4 ram, Asus Hero Crosshair VIII mother board, and some other stuff I forget exactly what.

Re: A2A is MIA
It is too bad about only P3D and MSFS being considered. I know for a fact that a A2A P-40 would be a huge addition for DCS:World though it would be the only planes that hasn't been done other than the B-17 for that platform.

We are considering all platforms including Xplane, DCS and even our own.

Re: A2A is MIA
huh? Own platform? How far off into the future might that be? Years? Starting from scratch? Something you've already started? You can't have an NDA against yourself, so any other info on this?Scott - A2A wrote: ↑24 Sep 2021, 17:27We are considering all platforms including Xplane, DCS and even our own.

And A2A is the one developer that could do it.

Re: A2A is MIA
Can anybody imagine what would it be if A2A picked up what the guys from Stick and Rudder (sadly, actually MIA) left?
Stick and Rudder was the only other thing I was really waiting for other than new A2A planes.
Thinking of A2A working at a sim on their own gives me goosebumps...

Also, thank you Scott for the heads-up. I hope people won't jump into too many conclusions... Glad to see you are still interrested in commercial market anyways.

Oh my. If A2A does an entire flight sim platform at the level of the aircraft how awesome.

The Bing satellite coverage isn't complete enough for military use. They themselves have better data than bing.alexhepworth wrote: ↑23 Sep 2021, 16:04I would think the military would be extremely interested in using MSFS 2020 as a base over any other platform. They would be able to perform exercises anywhere in the world, giving the military pilots a more realistic experience. We have Orbx TrueEarth in P3D and X-Plane, but there's no TrueEarth for areas of the globe with the potential for actual military action.Scott - A2A wrote: ↑22 Sep 2021, 10:11 We are actively developing for P3Dv5 for our military projects.
Maybe A2A should ask their military clients to go and have a good long (rough) talk with the... 3rd party... You know, rough 'em up a bit.
Re: A2A is MIA
Hand-crafted is always hand-crafted. DCS Marianas are, at places, absolutely brilliant. To have a sat-view of one's backyard in the sim is not much of use for a military organisation who could google-map that for their planning anyways like anybody. More, they would benefit from being able to quickly re-create the specific area of interest in detail using the tools that are readily available for a random job, completely disregarding whether it matches the data publicly available or not.

We are closer than anyone thinks to our own platform. And we're not just thinking GA, but air combat. Anyone want this? I know I do.

Fascinating turn of events.
Re: A2A is MIA
Absolutely not interested unless it includes a Sea Fury or a Bearcat. Nope. Not interested at all. Okay, maybe. Yes, yes I am.Scott - A2A wrote: ↑25 Sep 2021, 17:00 We are closer than anyone thinks to our own platform. And we're not just thinking GA, but air combat. Anyone want this? I know I do.
