new computer build

Post by luvtofly »

Hello

I need some help I just rebuilt my computer to a asus z390a prime with a i9 9900 k and 16gigs of ram I have water cooled system and a msi 1660 supper 6gigs gpu. The computer is running fine I think. cpu running at 28 c. The problem that I an having is when I try to start up p3dv4.5 It starts up slow, and when I go in to the sim, I am getting 2 to 6 fps. So I uninstalled p3d, all a2a planes. redownloaded p3d and have the same problem. I am thinking that I should do a complete clean of my computer. Or could it be something else. I even ran a stress test and it came out at 174 points well above the specs.
I hope someone has a answer.

Thanks Jim

Hello Jim,

a reinstall is never going to fix a performance issue such as that. However can you give us some more details, is this using an existing windows install or is this a nice new fresh windows install to go along with the new parts?

The first things to check if it is a new windows install will be;

-Windows all updated
-Direct X installed and all updated
-ALL drivers installed (Not using windows makeshift drivers designed to get the system up and running but the correct brand and model drivers) and updated for Mobo, GPU etc
-P3D Settings are all set correctly

thanks,
