I recently reinstalled all of my A2A fleet into a fresh P3Dv5.1.1 install. I noticed the panel labels on the v35 were awful, so downloaded the optional No-MIP textures which made a HUGE difference. Do any of the other A2A planes have no-mip options I may have missed during install, and if so, any way to get there without reinstalling? TIA!
BTW, I'm flying pretty much nothing but A2A planes in P3D5.1.1 right now, and I couldn't be happier!

Re: No-MIP textures!
You should set Texture Resolution: Ultra - 4096x4096 in Graphics - Display.
Since A2A now use mipmaps in their panels for aircraft, setting it lower will no longer give good visual results. Same goes for the main aircraft textures too. They have mipmaps also so, turn up the resolution to avoid being disappointed.
Steve.

Re: No-MIP textures!
Thanks Steve. I prefer to keep mine set to 1024x1024 in order to not exceed my 7.1gb usable vram. Is there a way to limit texture resolutions for everything else besides the aircraft?
Thanks,
SG

Re: No-MIP textures!
7 GB VRAM with A2A aircraft seems pretty excessive and I can't see that happen here in 4k. usually I'm around 4GB. Are you sure it's not maybe ASCA if you have it? Or something else?
Re: No-MIP textures!
It’s definitely my other addons, not because of A2A. I need to keep my Max texture to 1024x1024 for ASCA, orbx, and other complex scenery addons. The problem is that the mipped panel textures then look blurry... the V35 looks great with the no-mip textures. Was just curious if that option was available for any other planes.

Re: No-MIP textures!
As one of the 'painters' I can add that none of my work has MIPs and all of my work in recent years is 4096 X 4096. I think most of the other guys do the same. MIPs are okay for scenery but not for aircraft. The concept of MIPs was to allow you to see something on the ground at a greater distance yet not suck up a bunch of memory. The detail of each MIP layer reduces the further away you are from the object. With aircraft, that is not required but detail up close is desired. Thus, the 4096 X 4096.
Re: No-MIP textures!
I guess for any plane that has blurry panel issues, I could just remove the mips with imagetool, right?

I don't know Imagetool but yes. Removing the mips would force the single res texture. No matter the distance.
