Just watched it tonight for first time in a long time. If anyone has never seen it you ought to pick it up. It is highly regarded as a well portrayed view of the early struggles of the 8th Bomber Command.

Notice the P47 close ups shooting at the unescorted flight over Germany - long shots show 109s, tight shots show Jugs! Scene right before Peck's last flight. Great flick though!

It's a great movie in its own right. Even my gf, who can't stand war movies, loved it.

It also makes me thankful that we live in an age when velcro may be applied to one's rank insignia, rather than something as awkward as "zippers".
