Question about the Cherokee 180

Post by CookerCook »

Is this Cherokee model an Archer II? Also, what is the preferred or mandated speed for touch and go operations?

“No, I fly one.”

It's not an Archer II, it's a 180C with the Hershey Bar wing. As for a "touch and go speed", stall with full flaps is 55 mph.

Not an Archer as stated by Ratty. As for touch and go speeds, use your normal approach speed and landing speed. There is nothing special airspeed wise involved with touch and go's. Just land the airplane, clean it up, rotate normally and go around.

Speeds will change based off of winds and airplane weight. That’s when flying becomes more of an art and less of a science.

Its also ironically one of the more forgotten aspects in simming as so many cling to there sheets of stats and numbers forgetting that theory doesn't equal reality but rather more guidelines and a rough framework. To better help prepare for the dynamic real world and this is pretty well simulated in the sim world given the amount of variances one can encounter. The fact most of us sim on the kinda weather days when we wouldn't go wheels up in reality kinda points to this too lol.

cheers,
