Has anyone done a pre-purchase on the new Microsoft FS 2020?

This is the place where we can all meet and speak about whatever is on the mind.

In one of the official videos it was called FS2020. In the development updates you'll see something like:

5 days and counting.
GET READY!
Cabin crew, please prepare the cabin for takeoff.

I thought that was the sole Aerosoft gig.
I dunno about that.

There's some duff gen floating about then. (Well that goes without saying :D )

Sorry to only partially quote you, but 'Ouch!'

The last few days have had me swinging 'No, forget it' to 'Ah to hell with it, I'll buy it' and even 'I'll definitely get it because it'll be great and get even better'

Now you've got me back to 'No, forget it'

I'll very likely get it because I've just this afternoon put in a 1TB 860 EVO that's sitting there empty!
Just stick with it! Remember it's default aircraft, and this will be the best batch of default aircraft yet, despite some issues. 3rd party add-ons will come soon enough and then the party will really start!
Happy Landings

Yeah. Makes sense though. Who is the most 'Yoo-hoo, here I am', 'in-your-face' distributor. Aerosoft or AMAZON.

So much for pre-ordering.

Amazon failed to deliver. No surprises there. Delivery was re-scheduled for sometime in September/October. I was offered a cancellation and noticed it was available from elsewhere for £30 extra. Yeah right!

Anyway. I cancelled and bought it from Steam. £10 cheaper. Currently downloading 95GB @ 2MB/sec.

Oof! Did you mean 2 Mbps, or MB? That's gonna take a while if the former. From Microsoft, I had anywhere from 25-115 Mbps depending on the individual file sizes being downloaded at the time. The initial smaller bits seemed to go slower. Still took 3-3.5 hours, not sure exactly, I went to sleep and set the alarm for 4 hours from the start.

Megabytes. The last test I did I was getting something like 14 Megabits/sec. I really need fiber. (84.21GB to go currently)

I am sometimes half that speed ;)

MSFS is a full day download for me but it works in the background ok, or the classic overnight job helps too.

cheers,
