Strange behavior...
The propellers on my A2A planes don't move, while all other features work as expected.
Any clue as to why this may be?
Thanks,
Moose

None of the A2A aircraft have been certified for v5 yet. They are being made compatible but it will take time. New installers are required.

Re: My A2A Props Don't Move in P3Dv5
Hey Moose,
Yep, no 'official' P3Dv5 support yet and we're still try to get to the bottom of why some users are experiencing odd issues.
Therefore, if you can give as as much info as possible it would be appreciated.
Which A2A aircraft are you trying?
Have you modified the default scenario and if so, with which aircraft and airport?
How are you starting the flight: by loading a saved flight, or by clicking 'OK' to launch the default scenario?
Any other add-ons installed?
Are you launching the sim with full admin privileges?
Thanks,
Nick

Re: My A2A Props Don't Move in P3Dv5
Hi Nick,
Today I was using the C-172, and a couple days ago I used the P-40 and the T6.
I have a few scenarios saved, and the current one (saved as Default) is KGWS (Glenwood Springs, Colorado, USA) with the AC11 Commander (Carenado) that's included in P3Dv5.
I always start P3D with "Run as Administrator."
For add-ons, just A2A aircraft and ORBX products.
I know it'll be a while before v5-compatible versions of A2A aircraft become available, but just thought it odd that my A2A props are stuck.

Hey Moose,
try changing your default flight and starting a new flight from the freeflight UI with your 172.
thanks,

Re: My A2A Props Don't Move in P3Dv5
Okay, thanks for the info Moose.
For testing purposes, please can you revert the default scenario back to the original one called "Prepar3D Default"?
Please can you also let us know if you still have P3Dv4 installed on your system?
Cheers,
Nick

Re: My A2A Props Don't Move in P3Dv5
Hi guys,
Evidently there's more going on than just the propeller not turning.
When I switch to an A2A aircraft, the system thinks the engine is running because I can't access the Maintenance Hangar (I get the red bar error message about the plane having to be on the ground and with the engine off).
I had uninstalled P3Dv4 before installing v5.
I changed the default flight to the Default Scenario and then switched the aircraft from the F-35 to the C172. No change in behavior from before.
It's okay. I'll just wait till A2A aircraft become fully-compatible.

Hello Moose,
it sounds like simconnect isn't loading in for you in p3d.
Rather than change aircraft, try just loading the sim up to the main menu and then selecting the 172, your destination and click OK to load into the sim.
thanks,
Lewis - A2A

Re: My A2A Props Don't Move in P3Dv5
Hi Lewis,
Not sure exactly what you meant, but here's what I did:
- Started P3Dv5 as administrator
- When sim loaded, I was at the default scenario
- I went to the Scenario menu and selected "New Scenario; selected the 172 and a random airport
- Same results as before.
Is there anyway to check the simconnect in P3Dv5?

Hi Moose,
Yes, please can you have a look in the Windows list of Apps and Features and let us know which version(s) of SimConnect show as being installed (they'll be under "Microsoft Flight Simulator SimConnect Client").
Thanks,
Nick

Hi Nick,
The only "SimConnect" thing I could find in the Windows Apps & Features was: Microsoft Flight Simulator SimConnect Client v10.0.61259.0, 3/30/2018

Re: My A2A Props Don't Move in P3Dv5
did the sim start directly into the flight without showing the UI first? I don't have v5 but that sounds like an issue to me. Normally the start UI is really required.
Re: My A2A Props Don't Move in P3Dv5
There's a checkbox on the UI called "Show on Startup".
When the box is not checked, P3Dv5 will load straight to the default scenario.

Best to always load into the main menu first that into a flight. So try reverting back to default and see how you get on.

Re: My A2A Props Don't Move in P3Dv5
Yeah, I changed the startup to the UI, changed airport and plane (to A2A aircraft), and the sim loaded up.
In addition to the prop not working, the flaps don't work either. I think I'm doomed.
