These acts are always among my favorites to watch. I've always said that the guys who can pull off that routine have to work really, really hard and be really, really good to fly so very, very bad.

Both Kyle and Kent have modified their aircraft to be able to do these routines without damaging the plane. Both have skid plates on the wingtips and Kent has a special "breakaway" aileron for his show. Both the Interstate Cadet and Piper Cub are perfectly flyable without ailerons, so there isn't a safety issue with what Kent does in his act.
