Thanks Nick, this is me, I really don't feel comfortable messing with xml and all the file stuff that's mentioned here. Any idea when the new installers will be released? Thank you.

But nevertheless it s a bit frustrating not being able to understand why your "copy and paste"from V4 file to v5 process does not works in my case .
Besides my other aiplane addons are working well when forced in "sim object/ airplane "Prepar V5 file ,only A2A airplanes don t !
Bad luck
Please modify as soon as possible your installer as V5 is a real progress compared to V4.5.
Yhanks

Hello PR,

the move was for experienced tweakers really. If you are not confident moving the files and knowing how the add-ons work in the P3Dv5 add-ons folder then its best to wait until we release the actual P3Dv5 products.

thanks,

Is there an estimate when to expect the P3D v5 installers. I purchased after reading on FSelite that it was compatible... didn't see that I need p3d v4 installed still. I did a fresh install  My fault, should of read more.

No estimates right now. We are still working on tracking down the changes needed and in communication with Lockheed looking at the fixes and things coming to help stabilise the platform etc.

Checking back in, P40 just does not work, but both the L-049 and the DC-6 are working fine and it took 3 minutes to make the reg changes. Gonna enjoy these planes till the installers get updated but these installed just fine. Sidenote- Orbx, ALL Rex (except WX Radar which I don't own), Connie and DC-6 work just fine in P3Dv5. Navigraph is now fully working w/ v5 after latest update yesterday? I believe.

Yes. I agree. All this hassling for the B-17 is ridiculous, especially as it's the P-47 he should be nagging for...

Cheers,

Interesting as just moving files over from P3Dv4 addons folder to P3Dv5 addons folder that's not my experience at all. So long as I reload user vehicle on loading it all works great.

hello LEWIS
sure i am not a geek .
but to copy and paste according to your advise the A2A content from my C Prepar3D V 4.5 Addon file in the C Prepar V5 add on file ,is a very simple operation and is OK for my capabilities !
I did it and did it again without any result!
Besides my Prepar V4.5 works perfectly well with my A2A planes which means that my V 4.5 files should be ok!
Besides again, when i copied and pasted some of my sim object V4.5 airplanes files in V 5 sim object airplane files, both simulators being on my F disk , they worked well but it s note the case with A2A planes ! why ?
What a Strange world

I think the issue might be that you are moving simobject folders?

I think you are maybe mistaking the P3D addons folder in your my documents with the main P3D folder?

You will also have to activate the mods folders in P3D itself so it gets picked up if not auto picked up when you next load the sim and it asks you if you wish to activate the new folders.

thanks,
