Sounds like a licensing nightmare for developers.. can’t wait to see where this new FSy or z fits in the world filled with FSX, P3D and xplane...
Anyone knows the connection if any, between this announcement and dovetail losing the license rights on their flight sim?

Have to look at this later, but this sure looks like the usual scam from the same guys that do the pro flight simulator.

A lot of game sites have this news posted. Seems like it's for real.
Scott? When will we get the Piper J3 Cub for the new flight sim?

No Xbox for me, and can't imagine the desktop needed to run that. LM might be very unhappy.

If this will be proper sequel for Fsx, with similar addon support etc... Then wow... Wwwoow... I so hope so.
But too many dissappointments over the last few years keeps me down on ground for now.
This would be what civilian flight sim community really needs, a truly modern flight sim with whole world. And i hope this time it will run stutter free 60fps with good computer, anything less is too old school and unacceptable in 2020 imo.

Re: New Microsoft Flight sim in 2020?
I'm excited to see this happen and I'm glad I haven't already made the investment to move away from FSX. The biggest deciding factor for me though and I suspect most others here, is if A2A planes will be flyable in it.
There's a longer thread over at the Orbx forum if you haven't seen it, and there's a bit of speculation that this sim has Orbx TrueEarth scenery.

I'm sure it will run at least as well as FSX did on existing computers when it was released.
There is a surprising amount of negativity on various forums.
One of the members of the original Aces development team said this new flight sim has been in the works for at least 2 to 3 years. Amazing that no one leaked any information.
I sincerely hope the new sim has all the features that FSX had to attract new gamers to flight simming. We could use some new blood. I doubt addon vendors like A2A would complain if that happened.

I wonder if this might be the new Accu-Sim technology and new product Scott mentioned in the May Development Update? If so, I can't follow, spent too much on this hobby as it is, no more new computers for me unless this one explodes.AviationAtWar wrote: ↑09 Jun 2019, 19:54The biggest deciding factor for me though and I suspect most others here, is if A2A planes will be flyable in it.
And, wow, is this site ever slow again the last two days! Anyone else?
Re: New Microsoft Flight Sim in 2020?
Slow for me too.
I'm going to speculate that none of our legacy content will work in the new flight sim. This isn't as bad as it sounds, as a lot of that content might already be in the sim right out of the box. Several developers have mentioned secret projects.
I wouldn't be surprised if A2A has aircraft ready for sale for the new sim the same day it is released.
