First Eagles WWI sim

Post by brianjgregory »

Downloaded this from the ThirdWire website (www.thirdwire.com) recently. From an immersiveness perspective this game is very reminiscent of Rowan's Flying Corps Gold.

Also the scenery (based on that used in Strike Fighters) is very good.

It's certainly worth a quick gander and only costs about £15 to download. What are the chances that the scenery code-cracking that's been mentioned on the forum recently will be able to give us BoB II scenery of similar quality and richness? For me (local freeze/ lockup issues possibly associated with my own PC's config. aside) it's the main weak point of BoB II. Everything else is excellent - especially with multiskin!! :?:

Depends on what you want.
There are about 5-10 major jobs on the tasklist of our terraincoder.
I don't have that sim but remember not having my socks blown off by the screenies, so I could well imagine achieving or surpassing their level. Of course there are so many aspects that something will probably always be better in say that sim, but then I certainly hope we will beat it in quite a few aspects as well.

I also have this game, and I found it quite disappoining...It wouldn't be so bad, if we were in 2001-2002. But it's 2007!

Just do 2 separete installs,or like i did copy all your aircraft from CFS3 into OFF...
You'll fly them in the wrong era,but over much better looking terrain and ditto effects!

If it's the effects from firepower you think you'll miss, the OFF's are much better, really.
