Curved monitor screen

Post by gra1 »

Hi All
I'm thinking of buying a curved monitor.

Doe's anybody use one, can anyone recommend one.

I'm not sure if the perspective is going to be suitable for
flight simming.

Any feedback / advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks

I have a Samsung curved monitor screen and it's great. It's definitely a step up from the previous flat screen. Recommended.

I have been using a 34" curve screen for a while. I love it. No issues.

I’ve been using this monitor (Asus ROG Swift PG348Q Black 34" 3440 x 1440, 100 Hz Curved IPS G-Sync 21:9) for awhile now, and absolutely love it. No issues or problems.

The only thing I’ve had to do is edit a few panel.cfg files for my PMDG 737, 777 aircraft so my pop-up panels would look correct for the 21:9 aspect ratio. Not required as you can of course resize the panels each time if you so choose.
Cheers,
Randall

Dell 34" U3415W curved - great immersion with all that screen. Running at 3440 x 1440 resolution.

I’m excitedly waiting to get my Samsung Z35P on Monday. I’ll report after trying it for a while. I wonder if I have room for it on my desk.....

Folks

I've not been able to work this out... so the size is still the diagonal, yes? If so, how big on the really wide screens to you need to go to not lose height over a 'standard' 16:9? Not that it probably concerns me as much as it did a day ago... since I now need a new stick so thoughts of a monitor are gone until this one gives up. :-(

I use a 55” Samsung curved 4k TV places about 2 1/2 feet away. The little curve makes a huge difference, and the big screen means I don’t have to wear reading glasses.
