B-25

Post by dvm »

For those that are waiting for a Accusim Military/classic twin for P3DV4 one of the guys over at sim-outhouse has modified the Roy Chaffin B-25 to Native FSX so it will now work in P3DV4. Too bad the MAAMSIM B-25 is so long in the tooth. Beggars can't be choosers so this is as good as it get for B-25s. You will also need the patch that fixes the tach error you can find it in the second link.

This may not be the place for this but while waiting for the B25 from Warbidsim, it sure would be great if A2A did a DC3/C47.

There already exists a payware quality C-47, best of all it's free!
Search for the MJ C-47 v3.14 at Sim-Outhouse.

You haven't flown it, have you? :) It does have Captain of the Ship... more or less.

All it needs is AccuEngine. Hint.

Has he actually updated it any further? Working AP, that stuff... it‘s great, sure, but it still uses more or less the P3D/FSX base model... radials that equal full throttle with the red line on the MP gauge... well...

But fly it in VR and you forget about all that, it‘s unbelievable!!! A „wow“effect guaranteed!

Latest version is 3.1406 and cockpit autopilot is still INOP although you can use the FSX implementation from what I've read... I don't use it myself. Version 3.1405 has working instrument lights which are as good as any night lighting I've ever seen.

I use TrackIR with a high zoom level making everything look life size. I'm happy with it.

What is the problem with the radials and red-line? I suggest changing "critical_altitude=7000 // was 100" to put the turbocharger back. I also have "thrust_scalar = 1.8" to restore performance from version 3.12. Got a few more edits, but very few. This is definitely not the stock DC-3 which I also flew a lot.

There is autopilot capability within the “Shift + 2 & 3” pop up menus.
It’s definitely miles ahead of the “stock” DC-3.
Crew call outs for all the checklists, stewardess on board, random comments from the copilot, very much like COTS, but still different.
I have a ton of Accu-sim stuff as well as the PMDG DC-6 and still seem to fly this one the most.

The MJ C-47 is so good I'm not so sure Accu-Sim would add all that much. I would rather see a airplane like the B25 or the Beech 18 as there are none out there anywhere as good as the MJ C47. It would be time better spent by A2A on the two airplanes I mentioned. There's still quite a few examples out there so finding a flyable one for development would be fairly easy as compared to the Marauder, as an example. Although I sure would like to have a Accu-Sim B-26. :D
