Hi everyone,
Hope that you are all good today
I am texting you right now cause I am running out of solution.
Here is the problem : my silver texture don't look right.
I don't know if you have already seen the amazing Silver Spitfire repaint by bladerunner900, if you didn't just go check this out it is just prefect.
But unfortunately I have got an issue with my "silver" textures, because for those who fly on the T6 TEXAN, there is also a silver texture, and it looks like the silver spitfire.
Here a pic to show you what it looks like : https://www.dropbox.com/s/3lna72db5gzdc ... .jpeg?dl=0
Here is my config : Intel Core I5 ; 8 Go Ram ; NVIDIA GTX 1070
W10 and NVIDIA drivers are up to date.
I don't know what to do and I am getting tired of this problem...
Hope that someone will know what is the solution...
Thank you and see you from ATPL classroom
Simon

Re: Silver texture issue
Hi Simon. I believe you meant to post this picture?
I'm still on Windows 7 myself and would be interested to know if it has something to do with Windows 10

Re: Silver texture issue
Not knowledgable enough apparently. You could try following this guide from the official LM P3D site, paying particular attention to step 5. It sounds a bit radical to me, but perhaps it's time for radical measures. It will remove all your add-ons so perhaps not for the squeamish.

Steve.
Yeah. For now, copy and paste this text into the Windows search bar, then delete the "Shaders" folder only.

Re: Silver texture issue
Hi Steve,
I will try this maybe this week end, maybe that an add-on is causing the issue.
I will follow the instructions and see what is going on, maybe that a particular add-on is the problem.

That looks better.
What did you do?
What did you do?
Re: Silver texture issue
Hi Steve,
I can now say what is the reason of issue !
3 hours ago, I was writing this post, because the problem was solved
And I was happy to show the silver spitfire to my brother
But the issue came back
I was not sure about the cause of the issue, but given circonstences, it was probably Tomato Shade, because i hadn't installed a lot of add-on so far
After uninstalling again P3D (again) I reinstalled the T6, problem solved
I installed TomatoShade, apllied R&D preset and... problem again !
I went through TomatoShade and here is the reason of this issue :
-Advanced Reflections -> Extended Reflection Rendering
Just set this option to off and here you are !
Now I can finaly learn how to fly this beauty
Thank you so much for taking your time Steve you are a lifesaver
Don't hesitate to send a message, it will be a pleasure to hear some news from you
Have a nice week end !

Re: Silver texture issue
Ah! Good to hear you sorted it.
I didn't know that you used Tomato Shade. If I'd known I probably would have told you to try without that. I use REX Sky Force 3D and PTA, with an R&D preset. It does a similar job and something I am more used to.
Any more problems then ask on these forums. Someone is bound to be able to help and will answer eventually.
All the best
Steve.
