Seaplane - PBY Cat - twin for A2A

Post by captrem »

I know a lot is going on now with the Bonanza coming soon and the other warbirds to be updated for p3d v4.
I love the spitfire and its sensitiveness on the elevator.

A great new plane for A2A would be a mid size twin piston. Carenado is about to release a beech 18 which is one of my favourite. But another aircraft that I would love to see accusimmed is the PBY Catalina.
Aerosoft did produce a good one a long time ago, but with the new possibilities offered by p3dV4 and the genius of Accusim, it would be nice to fly an Accusimmed Catalina either in a WW2 config or in an airshow warbird configuration. There are quite a few still flying around so it may be possible to accusim it.

Amybody any thought on this?

I'm not a big fan of the Catalina. I will invest all the resources for the Aerostar. Twin, not too big, not too small and fast, very fast.

I've always loved the Catalina. But once my dream for an A2A B-25 died, any desire for a twin died with it. I love my Connie, but I really don't want another multi. After I get the Bonanza, P-51, and P-40, I'll probably only buy single radials in the future...unless a P-39, Bf 109, or 8KCAB should pop up.

I would love an A2A PBY-5A. It's always been a favorite of mine and would open up a whole new world for flight sim.

I'm all for it but for the time being just looking forward to 64bit P51, P40 & B17.

Sure, if they made it I would buy it, tho for a twin amphib I would prefer one of the Grumman waterfowl...Wigeon, Goose, Mallard, or Albatross.

The PBY is a fine plane, but the joke about the PBY is 'Take off 90, cruise 90, land 90'. The Grummans would be more ideal for cruising/exploring. If there ever was a Flying Winnebago, it would be the Grumman Albatross.

I would love to have a Catalina :D . But I'd love any warbird (or even a "workhorse" GA) that would come along.

Besides the underpowered Piper Cub I would love to see a more powerful bush plane for us backwoods fliers.
Take care, Brett

I have a wonderful Cat flying in P3D, so I don't need another. What I want is a T-33!

The Aerosoft PBY Catalina actually works in P3D V4.

A bit aged and not accusimmed - but still has alot of features also when it comes to engine failures, airframe icing etc..
When I like to do basic flying, I turn to A2A Aircraft, cause A2A "basic" flying means "complex" procedures.

I'll second that, Aerosoft PBY works well in P3Dv4.
Pretty realistic engine behaviour and failures are modelled.
Not Accusim, but still pretty good.
