Is FSX Real World Weather done?

Post by boilerhead »

Hello,
I have problem with FSX Real World Weather. It's stuck on winter conditions from December. I don't want use other addons, because this was good.
It works for you? And FSXWX shows SimConnect failed.. It's a pity if it's done. :|

I don't use FSX weather anymore but several months ago I noticed FSX no longer connects to the internet for me. On the splash screen instead of showing steam sales, etc, it says some stuff about what you'd see if connected to the internet. I've seen others mention similar issues in the last few months.

I know you don't want to use an add on, but Active Sky is worlds above FSX weather and is cheap. I regret not buying it years ago.

+1. Active Sky is to the weather what Accu-Sim is to the aircraft.

+1 for Active Sky. I also had REX. Either is an improvement over the default weather engine but I like Active Sky and Cloud Art.

Hi,

FSX have discontinued their connections to Jeppesen weather servers for several years. No longer live weather update - which was great imo.
I use FSrealWX, not as sophisticated as Active Sky, but does wonderful job for me. Here is the site for FSrealWX.

Personal active sky vote here too. Provides some stunning skyscapes and dead easy to use.

Thanks,
