I haven’t looked at it from this point of view but it makes perfect sense. Sort of what the automotive industry is going trough at the moment with electrifying the car. Only that they have a better guidance now. And more possibilities to study solutions without actually building them.Medtner wrote: It's a monstrously bad idea, but that was an interesting point in aviation history - the transition from the wasteful and complex propliners to the jet age. We A2A-geeks have learned that lesson, flying the 377, and also the Connie. Desperate times, apparently, for them to even let that monstrous design to leave the drawing board.
I’m sure it would be fun. Just imagine those preflight checksMedtner wrote: But how fun would it be to have in a simulator? I'd love to have such a beast in the sim. A COTS Brabazon would be so much fun!
Well to be honest, A2A representation of those birds are of very well balanced planes with super short take off / landing distance, enough fuel to fly all day long and outstanding performance once levelled off (320+kts ground speed with the strat is a decent cruise imho), despite a poor climb rate.Medtner wrote: It's a monstrously bad idea, but that was an interesting point in aviation history - the transition from the wasteful and complex propliners to the jet age. Having bought the Spit, Cherokee, P-51, and Bonanza in the past few months, and hopefully the P-40 soon, I can wait a while on the secret project. Nooooo hurry.caleb1 wrote:A2A: Now that the bonanza is released, is there any news on this secret plane?
