The Comanche is primarily just a heavier airplane experience, and faster. So when transitioning from the Cherokee to the Comanche, the Cherokee pilot has to just get used to things moving faster in the pattern. But you get used to that speed, just like getting a faster computer. In a pretty short order, it feels "normal" again.

What I am personally very happy and proud of is how our Accu-Sim formula is able to capture and reproduce these deep characteristics in these airplanes. The 172 / Cherokee was the moment where this was all fully defined, as most pilots couldn't tell you how these two adversarial legends flew differently. However, you can see in Accu-Sim just how different these two airplanes feel in slow flight and the landing flare.

I remember when test flying the little hersheybar Cherokee 180, as a former owner of a later model tapered winged Cherokee, I was coming in high and hot.
In the larger tapered wing, you wouldn't have a prayer of making it down. However, I was able to drop the hersheybar like a rock. And I thought, "wow, that's different." Then on final I ran out of elevator trim once on the flare. Again, I thought "wow, that's different again." It's intriguing to run into these differences in an airplane, as it leaves questions that need to be answered. And in that quest, we learn a little more about not just a particular airplane, but aviation in general.

So the key as we move forward at A2A, is we are always looking for new territory to explore. This little hersheybar Cherokee was so key in our exploration and it's wonderful to see a small A2A fleet continue to build.

I am training IRL in a Cherokee 140 and the A2A version is extremely close to the real thing. It has helped immensely in my training. If I were to buy a real plane though it would probably be the Comanche. It’s faster and more refined IMO.

Both are great though. Hats off to A2A for the time and effort they put into making these planes as realistic and as enjoyable as possible.
